Winner of the I Violin Competition Cantareira College, in 2008, and one of the promising talents of the newest generation of Brazilian violinists, Juan Carlos Rossi was born in Florianópolis and at 8 he started his musical studies with professor Jéferson Della Rocca. He also studied with the professors and violinists Atli Ellendersen (Denmark), Bárbara Stübner (Germany) and Elisa Fukuda (Brazil). He graduated in violin by the Carlos Gomes Violin College, in 2007.
Used to an intense musical activity, differentiated and successful, Juan Carlos participates in recitals, festivals, concerts and master classes. He has had the opportunity of enjoying the experience and teachings of great masters such as Yazuka Nakamura (Japan), Mathias Weibel (Switzerland), Ole Böhn (Norway), Anne-Kathrine (Germany), Charles Stegman (EUA), Boris Belkin (Russia), Nancy Bidlack (USA) and Hagai Shaham (Israel).
He has performed in several solo recitals, mainly in the states of Santa Catarina, Paraná and São Paulo.
He was part of the Camerata Florianópolis; Symphony Orchestra of the State of Santa Catarina; Orchestra of the International Festival of Juiz de Fora, as 1st violin; and of the Academic Orchestra of the Winter Festival of Campos do Jordão.
He has participated in several international courses and festivals, such as: Student course of the “Anne Kathrine” class – Germany, where he performed in a solo recital; Music Festival of Kinhaven – Vermont/USA, playing as first violin of the orchestra, being acclaimed by the public as well as the specialized press for his interpretative capacity and virtuosity.
He lives in Austria, where he is working in his Master’s in Violin at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, under the orientation of the renowned violinist Benjamin Smith, with a scholarship from the Santa Catarina Government.
He was part of The Salzburg Chamber Soloists I, with maestro Lavard Skou-Larsen, and currently plays at the Jung Philarmonie.

He participated in the recording of the CDs “Harmonia de Natal” and “Tributo à Música Popular Brasileira”, with the Camerata Florianópolis (1998 – 2000); of the CDs of the Campos do Jordão Festival, with Maestro Roberto Minczuck (2004) and Maestro Kurt Masur (2008); of the live CD of Camerata Fukuda (2006); and of the 2008 CD also of Camerata Fukuda, with a solo performance of a work by A. Vivaldi.
